About a year ago I learned to crochet. It was something that I had always wanted to learn and once I got going on it, I actually really enjoyed it. You may remember that my first project was a blanket for myself. Last summer when I realised that I would be spending Christmas in Australia with my very dear friend Katie, I knew that I wanted to give them a gift that was pretty special. I decided to crochet another blanket. Originally I wanted to choose ocean colours since my brain at that time was all about the Great Barrier Reef. My Moms and I quickly decided that the blanket needed more contrast so we added in the raspberry and eggplant. Here is the end result, sitting on Katie & Rob’s bed in sunny Queensland.
This awesome mobile is hanging at Katie’s house above her daughter’s crib. It is of knitted birds that are all native to Australia. Love it.
